The most out of my mind monged i have ever been was at a live techno gig, Ken Ishii in dublin in '99/'00

It was also one of the best/worst nights ever. The music was astounding, i was multimadourrofit and the atmosphere was amazing. Good times.

Afterwards my mate in dublin i was supposed to be staying with, gave me a key to his flat and fucked off with some bird, telling me "it's beside the four courts". Being mangled this seemed fine for the first 2 minutes of walking to where it was. Then i realised i had no phone, no idea where the flats were, and no coat. Cue massive comedown and sleeping behind some bins. Bad times.

Anyway, love a bit of techno myself, Slam are legends, long in the tooth now aye, but so's fabio and grooverider Smile

Ken Ishii remains a hero of mine...

download all micky pressures mixes, some techno, some dubstep but v techno influenced, all wicked IMO. for some slightly harder techno check the surgeon thread, loads of good mixes floating around on here.

Try out laurent garnier's retrospective album...it's pretty tasty.

Basic Channel for deep dubier stuff, the modern love label for more of the same...

There are also some great digital re-releases of the R&S back catalog, more classic gear on there...

Maybe look for some Underground Resistance oldies too, see which stuff you prefer...

What a nice "friend"! I would have been pissed! Then again, seeing Ken Ishii would calm me down a bit. His music is amazing. I really like the Japanese Techno sound. Ken Ishii is like the only person I know of though. Time to do some searching again.
