Exegene was set up in August 2004 to release quality "thinking mans" drum and bass as MP3's for absolutely free, but now we've expanded into selling CDs.
2 years on and we've now got a diverse back catalogue, different sounds from across the dnb pallette, from the more techier side of things to all out drumworks to dark twisted breakcore to light minimalistic vibes.

Our wish is to support the personal well being of the individual and to stimulate cultural transmission.Every other month a jungle/drum and bass party called Subversive Renaissance is held in Cafe Pakhuis Wilhelmina in Amsterdam.As we feel (unfortunately) that the wrong impression of jungle/drum and bass has arisen due to lengthy and one-sided promotion we come from a completely different perspective presenting its diversity to the public and reaching further than a target group This event's goal is to enrich and broaden the spectrum and perception of drum and bass and affiliated music traditions.Our parties provide a unique atmosphere and, according to many, they are one of the best in jungle/drum and bass in Europe and worldwide.We are delighted to tell you that during the Dutch D&B awards on 28 December 2005 IChiOne received 1st prize for the best drum and bass event in the Netherlands.
