Subvert Central Label Update!

Right Subverts,

news is I've finally settled on a solution to the banking problem.

Thanks to Beckett for the suggestion of opening an account in the North of Ireland...
Turns out I don't need an address in the North to do that - was just onto HSBC in Portadown.

So, the plan is to take a day off work and drive up there soon to set up the A/C.

My plan is also to open the account as a sole trader (less red-tape and expenses and I don't need an official accountant) trading under the name "Subvert Central".

So, that's the way it will be - unless anyone has any objections - which I won't listen to anyway.

... I suppose the majority of you are more worried about the music side of things though, so let me take this opportunity to put more pressure on Fracture & Neptune to send me a CD Lol

I'll send ye a copy of Playboy AO!
Another thing label wise...

Recently there was an argument about what artists we would feature on the label...

i.e. would it only be artists that specialise in the "Subvert Style" or would we go for the odd contribution from people who are outside of the circle so to speak.

Alot of people seemed to think that we should stick to those who's music is naturally subverted, seeing as we really aren't worried about profits and seeing as losses can be covered by a multitude of people anyway (though obviously we'll be hoping for strong sales so that that won't be necessary).

Am I right to say that the majority of people have this opinion?
I know I'd be in favour. Though obviously we'd be releasing the Subverts with the highest profile first.

Blue? Where do you stand on this? I don't think we heard from you first time around?
If so many people are willing to contibute money then maybe we can make this label as idealistic as possible???!
If the tune is quality from 'people outside of the circle' then release it, otherwise keep it subversive!
Co..Cou...Could you possibly rewind and come again?

2nd that one.
i trust in you to keep it qualitywise all rigged up Code & Blue.
i would be really dissapointed if this label was all about the drum n bass. i dont have a problem with that being the focus but i hope that some of the b sides, bonus tracks or whatever could be devoted to electronic subversive music not genre-lized..

for example tracks from weirded out aphex twin style through to blue - arclite and beyond into macc vs 0=0 or whatever, it could be left field drum n bass but it doesnt have to be all the time.

not to worry bobule!

there's already some different tempo cuts i've heard by polska, selini and fanu that i'd love to put on the label...

do you have a cd ready to send yourself? i know you make stuff but have yet to hear it. anything online?

also, mr. seti? you say you make beats, ja?
i don't think you guys should close yourselves off to anything, if the music's good and you want to release it then go for it. i also think that having some non-drum and bass b-sides or whatever would be cool as hell and i wouldn't mind seeing that on the label from time to time. Cool

anyways, my 2 cents.

Galacian Girl needs to be released. i wouldn't mind doing that myself but it will probably be a while before i can. what about a downtempo 12" w/ three or four tunes on it. that would be nice. or a Fanu three track-er w/ Glalcian Girl and a cou[ple of his up-tempo tunes. or, or...

You read my mind Machu!!!

My ideal Fanu 12" - which I really want to see happen is:

A Side: It All Happens In Cycles
AA Side: Bad Karma / Galician Girl

Fanu - tested out "It All Happens In Cycles" at the D&B Weekender here in Ireland last weekend and that bass sounded sweeeeet!
