The Conduit is here now
So I got a chance in the early morning just now to get up and read with the sweet. She's been cheering me up by reading me a Wire article while I transcribe it here.
This isn't ambient, it's a single (two-tracker) by Obituary a thirty plus years old death metal group. It bloody rocks though.

Obituary
Obituary
Relapse CD/DL/LP

Last year Florida death metal legends Obituary released a mini-album titled Ten Thousand Ways To Die. Made up of two new studio songs (the title track and "Loathe") plus live material from their 2016 North America tour, the release was intended as a taster for the 30-year-old group's self-titled tenth studio album. With its grinding guitar intro, ballistic drum and bass beats and throttled vocalising, "Ten Thousand Ways To Die" resurfaces as one of the key tracks here. Lasting around the same time as a classic jukebox single, its sheer force is something to be admired - a nailbomb attached to a fast burning three minute fuse.

...you get the idea.

Review's by Edwin Pouncey. Two para. The Residents cover issue. Issue 398, about two years old. Search Wire archive by reviewer, or by title. Title's much more randomised actually.

That's on page 52 btw.

I'll try and track down these records too, although Alexa is not having it when it comes to auditioning the building blocks of them:

Amadou Binta Konte & Tidiane Thiam - Waande Kadde
Sahel Sounds DL/LP
Jeich Ould Badu & Ahmedou Ahmed Lewla - Top WZN
Sahel Sounds DL/LP
Agrim Agadez - Various
Sahel Sounds DL/LP

And this one...

Mono No Aware - Various
Pan DL / 2xLP

Reads very well.

Ed: I'm just listening to "Waande Kaade" now on Spotify, it's pretty good. Very mellow guitar ambience. Perfect for waking up to and morning medication commencement.

Good electroacoustic music there I'm sure Statto.
Thank you for your help and advice.

Edit: the first track of the Anguish is well out there!
The Kate Carr is quite nice, if disconcerting in its dissonance.
Some stuff similar glitch wise to the Anguish tracks is Candyland on Spotify
I've listened to all the Anguish stems now.
Generally all excellent, interesting instrumental hiphop. I would love a CD. Pricey though. So I'll keep replaying the stems.
If I don't get bored of that, then it's a real winner.
Holy crap I almost skipped a beat when I saw this

Stat, check this dub techno earworm by Yagya hot off the press, just been sent it, amazing album:

"Yagya - Stormur" in Bandcamp search

It's very rhythmic, almost trance-like, dubby, yes, but altogether just techno...and that's just what we like.

I'm so behind with all this Oops Lol Oops Mutley-ani1

Got an email back from Diggedy Derek about what writing of his is in the next issue. Apparently there's a couple of things in there, as well as a big folk review of music on the Topic label (see my Vinyl Spotlight SoundCloud Podcast on Gary/Vera Aspey and Nils Lofgren). It's just nice to hear from him, as always. He replied within minutes, as usual, and it was past 5pm. Good of him.

I still have Exact Editions login to Wire and back issues, so I know what is going down. I struggle to read much nowadays though, as in BIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGGEEEEESSS.

I tell you, at least you Jon, that I was a lot more "past/present" focused in my early twenties; I had a lot more concentration. In my late twenties I was going future/past with the advent of asylum.

And now here I am, with my soulmate, and we just live for the moment now. Completely. No memory. A little vignette or thought for the past, but ultimately living fully in the present locum.

Speaking of contemporary focus, Oren Ambarchi is this month's cover hero. I love his stuff. "Live Knots" I have on CD; brilliant free jizz. "Trailing Moss In The Mystic Glow" is his best Ambient work.

Perhaps one of the ideas for reading could be to ...eurgh, there are never many options, or there are infinites. They do not seem very appealing. I'm a musician. I'm a writer. Can't stop writing, myself.

I think that sense of "deja vu, deja view" is too strong because, with most writing out there, I know I could have actively written it myself. It's called music. The ability to psychically synchronize to task.

Where are you at with the back issues Jon?
