Statto has put up (and lost) a substantial amount of his own money based upon the highest of aspirations - to release music that no-one else would - because although many liked the tunes, they feared that they wouldn't sell in the arid desert that constitutes the imagination of the drum n bass scene today. Statto paid the artists in advance - he even intended to ensure that the whole venture would be non-profit - for fuck's sakes!!!
Roni Size meanwhile continues to abuse the sum of his previous achievements by continuing to ride the after-wave with the utmost cynicism: releasing lowest-common denominator, characterless, soul-less muck for one reason and one reason only: to 'stay at the top of the game' i.e. to MAKE MORE MONEY.
You tell me: which one is the fucking soldier?
All that is irrelevant to the original point I made. No comment on who made money and who lost money, simply an observation (which I was reitterate again) that without 'shitty rave tunes' there would be no outlet for retaillers and distributors to sell anything else.
If Statto wants to prove some point or put himself out, good for him.
Simply because YOU think something sucks doesn't mean it actually does. You seem to think your opinion is INSTANTLY RIGHT! Some of you forum kings put so much BOOM into your posts its as if you're the all seeing wise men drum and bass needs to save itself from a horrible death.
..and what a laugh that is!
