more crazy foreign affairs: just finished "the hunter, the hammer, and heaven" by robert young pelton. he goes all the way in for the scoops in Sierra Leone, Chechnya, and Bougainville (off Papua New Guinea). pretty hardcore shit. lots of insight/perspective re: gov'ts, money, mercenaries, etc. etc... his story on Chechnya, "The Hammer" is by far the most hardcore part of the book, i would've loved to just keep on reading a whole book about that.
