USA upping it's oil imports from Iraq
US buys up Iraqi oil to stave off crisis

[b]Facing its most chronic shortage in oil stocks for 27 years, the US has this month turned to an unlikely source of help - Iraq.

Weeks before a prospective invasion of Iraq, the oil-rich state has doubled its exports of oil to America, helping US refineries cope with a debilitating strike in Venezuela.

After the loss of 1.5 million barrels per day of Venezuelan prod

Iraq and the Gassing of the Kurds

This is an interesting article on the alleged gassing of Kurds by Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war, written by the CIA's former senior policy analyst on Iraq during that time.

australian no confidence vote over iraq crisis
interesting more than ground shattering,

the upper house of australias parliament has passed a vote of no confidence over prime minister john howards handling of the iraq crisis. while the upper house does not often posess the power to damage the prime minister, it will make it very difficult for him to pass any new policy.
this is the first time in 102 years that the australian senate has expressed its lack of confidence in the ability of its leader.

why is this important?

I mean look at what Colonialisation has done to the world - the one good thing that has come out of that though is that a lot of places are really multiculural which I quite like.

The thing is I don

Osama Bin Laden has (or had in the past) branded Saddam an infidel so (allegedly) isn't in cahoots with him so any pretence of this war being because of that is rubbish. Now I appreciate that Saddam might have lied about weapons etc but there are so many countries who are anti-US that we know have WOMD, North Korea for example. What I'
