Midi loop triggering
I'm tending to write in Reason at the moment, and I'm looking at how to start breaking it all down for live performance.
What I think I need is to break my programming down into midi loops for each instrument which I can trigger/switch between to mix up the bits of my tunes so I'm not just pressing play in the sequencer.
I remember Orbital saying in a documentary they do something like this using hardware looping boxes of some sort, but does anyone know of a software solution that doesn't invo

The loop editor in Cubase
You know the thing where you can chop the audio in to slices. Is there a way of saving the hit points and then importing your own wav hits into the spaces in between? I'm sure there was something on The Grid about this but can't seem to find it.

To loop or not to loop

What is your method?

Do any of you still use just whole loops (with trigger points) or are we all heading over to the chop em to bits and program them to taste method.

I finally got a nice drum loop runnin !
Finally after ALOT of time and alot of false starts I've got a 4 bar drum loop running that could be deemed 'good' Lol

Feels like I just made a big step - though I'm still soooooo shit (and slooooow).

anyways, got the break from Parallel (in Indianapolis) - it's called "dusty fingers" - dunno if that's enough to ID it for anyone ? what it's taken from ?

it's probably a relatively easy break to chop to be honest - but nothing is easy for me when it comes to this stuff Grin
