I think Wax Doctor used this version of the apache on Spectrum (Platinum Breakz 1)

Which in itself is really sampleable Smile

Update - actually it is Young MC - Know How (see Fanu's DOA grid thread).

Cool
oh for christ sake, just post up a .wav
thats what everyone wants Lol
fanu Wrote:yeah,,,,,,,,not about engineering really.

a good tune will be a good tune without super-sharp engineering, while a poor tune with crystal clear engineering.......Neutral

finally someone in dnb is willing to admit the futility and the tyranny of the hi-fi aesthetic which is like some kind of dogma in dnb

that is why i haven't sold my soul for all the latest and greatest gear... i'd rather make do with what's in front of me... it's good enough for me, and i just like to score outdated hardware and software for that much cheaper than when it was hot :d

Neutral

I don't have one
Want to whack that up on the These Are The Breaks thread?

And yet a good tune with super-sharp engineering can be 10x better than the same tune without it... Smile

the biggerst problem is:

- too many crap tunes

the next biggest problem is:

- all the tunes are brickwall limited to fook to totally eliminate any dynamic range they once had.....

Thumbd
I blame DJ's for being too stupid to use a volume control Teef

I blame shite sound systems too.

A simple tune with loads of headroom and nothing much going on apart from beats and bass sounds soooooooo much better on a decent system than all this mid range brick wall rubbish.

Now if only they could have some decent systems in London again.

i thought it was just a particularluy phat version of the apache off a sample cd. on the dogs thread someone posted the actual break from the sample disc.

i take it you're suggesting it was broken up into freq bands for extra punchy fun love to get it sounding like that for the sample dsic though? Baffled :d
bare
was not suggesting an answer to the original question actually.

i have no idea what sd did - as it could have been done in many many ways.

but if i wanted that kick sound, i know it would be achievable through mults

i have a wav...of the break in question

Logos Wrote:Hahaha sometimes I think we overestimate the engineering genius of our (well my anyway) dnb heroes. SD nicked bloody anything from anywwhere. Stonekiller atmospherics being the best example.

I heard that Dom has never sampled the original amen, he just got it off an old hardcore tune. Icon_eek

Hahaha so true .... where are the stonekiller sounds from ???
