a fairly high percent of effect plugins i have downloaded in the past work with sound forge 6.0.
Don't know if these have been done before, but:

Bootsy TesslaSE (basically a tube / saturation thing)
http://rekkerd.org/bootsy-releases-tesslase-vst/

Bootsy Rescue (an analog style modelled signal designer, introducing spatial imaging as well as sonic resolution improvements to program material whatever the hell that means - the presets sound nice, anyway)
http://rekkerd.org/bootsy-releases-rescue-vst/

Acustica Nebula3 Free (I've not tried it yet but apparently it's a free / usable version - with slightly restricted controls and a smaller impulse library - of the full Nebula 3, which is a fiendishly clever CPU shredding monster thing that uses thousands of seperate IRs to 'sample' EQs, reverb, tube amps, compression, phasers and basically anything you can think of)

SimpleMedia Voc One (synth choir thing, good fun)

The TAL stuff is very nice sounding

"Rough Rider is a modern compressor with a bit of "vintage" style bite and a uniquely warm sound. Perfect for adding compression effects to your drum buss, it also sounds great with synth bass, clean guitar, and backing vocals. Definitely not an all-purpose compressor, Rough Rider is at its best when used to add pump to rhythmic tracks. Of course, you can use it however you'd like. The Compressor Police aren't gonna come to your house and give you a citation. Slap it on a track and crank some knobs."

I'm looking for free VSTs for dub-related stuff like delay, echoes etc. I am also interested in getting a decent sidechain VST as well as any vintage-emulating VSTs.

I don't know where to start. Baffled

Macc, would be cool if you could find links to String Theory, Kjaerhaus stuff, Voxengo stuff, fish fillets as well as MDA Piano.

Any other specific tips would be great. If my request is to broad, the following genres will serve as pointers as to what I might try to venture into this forthcoming year:

Jungle
Beats - Hip Hop, breaks,
Dubtechno
Techno
House
Electro
Downtempo

Edit: I kind of liked these http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml
check this thread on dubstep forum

someones put together a nice pack of free stuff - i sue a lot of it already.

I especially like the Reverb plug-inn, the filter and tube are also sweet.

Well all of them are quitte good I'd say Smile

enjoy!
Been using Bootsie's plugs lately (pc only). New delay plug came out recently too. All his stuff is top notch and free, and looks nice too Smile
