that be perfect for hip hoppers who like to bang out their drums, but you'd have to convince them there is more to gear than a mpc.

Why? I think it could be nice for programming rhythms and for use on stage (not for you of course Wink), I'd like to try this out.
It could be nice, and all these kinds of things are always a great idea, but the execution in most cases is mediocre at best.

Usually things like velocity sensitivity, build quality/strength etc - little pernickity things like that - end up meaning it doesn't feel right, or if it does it feels like if you hit it too hard it will fall to pieces.

But then I am an old fashioned drum-cynic Grin

Yes that's right, I meant the idea, the box itself could be shite.

Have you ever tried one of these electronic drumkits?
Roland v drums are the thing I desire absolutely more than anything else in the entire world. They can and will make all my musical dreams and desires reality, and I will then spontaneously combust in pure excitement.

Don't they break a lot? I mean hitting electronic devices really hard, doesn't sound like a good combination to me.
i like the look of it for the finger drummer Smile

I was looking at using just an old set of roldand midi pads for this, but this looks ideal...

perfect for hip hop as th eman lik ecrenshaw already pointed out Smile

You've obviously never hit these babies Lovesmilie Homerdrool

The heads are made of a metallic mesh that just will not break without a knife being involved, and are multi zone/velocity sensitive and HIGHLY nice to play.

I say again;

Homerdrool

It's true that finger drum thing would be okay for one shot kit playing, but not really for break-users. My fingers hit well hard though. :toughguy:

Lovesmilie they look a bit nice!!
if u got a multiple input soundcard u can build ur own drum pads/triggers with piezo mics and audio->midi conversion software like koen's ktdrumtrigger. the triggers cost next to nothing. of course you need a low latency sound card for this to work well..
I've looked into that........

But look at that TD10 - how could you not want that, as opposed to a shoebox scotch tape dangly wired sticky back plastic half arse falls apart every time you hit it type affair? Lol
