should I consider using this instead of Kontakt or get used to using kontakt (which i already know my way around to a fair degree) and then check it out? Is it THAT much better?

are you using it for breaks only? or would you use it for single drum hits as well? (kontact for everything else?)

I use SC for all manner of drum related juiciness. Breaks, hits, percussion...... that stuff.

Yeah i use it for allsorts now, its part of my template so when i start something new i fire it up and start chucking samples in and let the mangling comence

1.0.14 available - a few bugs introduced in 13 have been squashed.

I like it more than kontakt. It handles rexs much better, and the filters aren't shit.

The filters in kontakt were amazing when I first heard them, compared to HALion v1 - which despite being digital, apparently had plastic filters

EMU does own overall (just!), but the LP4M sat filter in SC makes me wet at both ends.

I feel spoiled though now. For all its faults I couldn't imagine working without my emu and its filters on fx, atmos and bass.

On drums, its a bit of a pain cos of the GUI but I run my amen in the emu-x and love what you can do to it in there, filtering and pitch shifting are just out of this world.

But SC is my workhorse drum sampler. And very fine it is.

Yeah I'm loving SC here too, so simple to use but so powerful...haven't had a mess with Kontakt 2 yet though, might be a big improvement?
