i have to say gwwwwwwaaaaaaaannnn the londoners. never felt vaguely proud to be british or anything like that, but i was yesterday.

walking for miles through london yesterday seeing people just getting on with it. some sad faces, but overall a feeling of 'fuck them, we'll just keep right on' Xyxthumbs Icon_cry Smile

apparently at the royal free hospital (where laura works) a+e dept, near the edgware road bomb, they ran out of stitches and had to get more in from all over the hospital. Icon_eek madness.

i haven't spoken to my brother yet - he's a london ambulance service paramedic - i am sure he needs the rest. but i do know that he would have been flying down there and doing everything he could, just as the rest of the emergency services did. if i read richard fucking littlejohn cane the las once more, i am going to have to refer him to the frankly incredible efficiency and effectiveness of their operations yesterday. huge amounts of respect and admiration for all the 999 crew Applause

i only smiled four times yesterday, and two of those were going past pubs that are normally very quiet at that time. both pubs were full to bursting, as in, people filling the entire street outside the pub, sounds of laughter as well as talk of how to get home, al qaieda (did i spell that right? oh hang on, fuck them) and so on.....

innit, i was in my local by 13.30 watching it all. there was a steady trickle of people returning from central with their various stories...place was rammed by 5.
Good point Hahaha I don't go out of my way to read him or anything, but on the few occasions in recent history where for some strange reason I have bought the Sun, he's moaning about the 999 services.

I'd LOVE to give him the chance to try them out first hand Twisted ( Teef deleted)

Fair play....its a very brave thing to do, to get back underground after the atrocity of yesterday!

Applause fantastic response and dedication from all hospital staff, stayin on to work another shift after a long night.....very impressed with the helicopter! Tight response for crisis -excellent!
Co..Cou...Could you possibly rewind and come again?
Bus drivers are great. Cheeky chappies always getting into romps and general mischief - If anyone has seen the i970s documentary 'on the buses' will know what i mean.

glad to see you allright m8 and all other londonners i know (and dont know) for that matter!

word on the streetz is it was the french.. something about olympics or so Smile
had to get the bus in today and it felt weird being on a bus reading about a bus getting blown up ... but on the whole everyone has coped with it really well and taken it in their stride ...

especially the emergency services who seem to have been superb Xyxthumbs
Ditto what the majority of you guys have said Applause

A very surreal day yesterday, but certainly one we can all remember for showing just how humane and caring people really are. The emergency services did a sterling job, always in a calm & polite manner, treating everybody as equals, and with complete professionalism.
madness... just when i was at the end of my thether with life in london... i now feel a very very proud to be a londoner.

we might all swear at each other for breathing too loud or whatever.... but we human after all.

its crazy.
the way people bonded together with strangers yesterday and helped eachother out was really good to see in a place always seen as unfriendly by other people ...

and the pubs! I was in one off Euston Road, just after 11:00. The manager was asking anyone if they wanted a tea or coffee, was getting extra seats out etc... people were still smiling and showing a real sense of solidarity.
