-RELATED BANDS-
All ex-members of June of '44 are currently playing in other bands.
Visit the June of 44 Family Page for a schematic view of the big family, I made that a couple of years ago, lots of new projects have been formed meanwhile...

Here is a list of projects with ex-June Of '44 members :

a project that started with work title DESTINATION will be offered as HiM (new line-up)
HiM has a new line up and includes Fred & Sean and some others, besides Doug (also in the old HIM line up). Check HiM @ utopia for all the latest info....

ABILENE (1999-now) 1 record available from Slowdime, 1 song on compilation from Zerobros and 1 record available from 54º40' or Fight!
Freddie T. Erskine joined them on trumpet in 2001!
also featuring Alex Dunham (ex-Regulatorwatts/Hoover), Craig Ackerman (ex-Lustre King) and Scott Adamson (ex-Chisel Drill Hammer). They formed in november 99 and played their first shows in the winter 00, their first album was recorded in spring of 00 by Juan Luis Carrera and came out early in 2001. Fans of the atmospheric, blues-dub guitarwork of Dunham's recent projects should be thrilled with this latest progression and the expert, crisp rhythm section at his disposal. Abilene has an amazing track on an animal rights compilation CD, it was released on Belgian based Zerobros. Abilene has just finished a record titled "Two Guns, Twin Arrows", it has come out on 54º40' or Fight! in October of 2002, they are playing doing a mini tour in October and November of 2002

THE LETTER E, side-project from Sean (99-now)
They released a selftitled EP on Tiger Style in 2000. You might know them from one of the tracks on the Insound Tour Lion-EP. The Letter E is a four piece, all instrumental band, also featuring Curtis Harvey (also in Rex and Pullman). The EP is available from insound, and also from BCore records in Spain. They recorded a full-length album with Bob Weston (Shellac), it is now available from Tiger Style, it is titled "The No. 5ive Long Player". They play shows now and then.

EVERLASTING THE WAY another side-project from Sean (98-now)
Sean's solo record is out on Monitor Records.
The album is entitled "Long-Stretch-Motorcycle-Hymn-Highway".
With guest appearance from Fred Erskine, Jon Theodore (Golden), Massimow Moscow (Three Second Kiss) and Enis Sefersah (The Letter E). Their was already the release of a Everlasting The Way 7''/ CD EP (4songs) on Magic Eye Singles (MES016), still available from Zerobros mailorder. And Everlasting The Way single will be release on Belgian based Zerobros at some point.

THE SHIPPING NEWS on Quarterstick (96-now)
formed in November of 96, still alive & kicking with Jeff, Kyle Crabtree and Jason Noble (ex-Rodan, Rachel's) "Save Everything" was the title of their first album
They have recently released a 2nd album titled "Very Soon, and in Pleasant Company" (release date was January 16, 2001), it was Utopia's Album of the month in March 01!! They recorded it by temselves at Jason and Kyles house in Louisville, with help and engineering skills from Christina Files (she used to play drums in Victory At Sea). They have toured the US & Europe in 2001 & 2002 (check some of my photos), supersphere recorded 2 shows click here to check them out.
Each of the members of the Shipping News are writing and recording "solo songs" with no real collaboration amongst them for a total of three songs apiece nine in all, those songs will be released on 3 EP's in limited fashion (the first EP "Carrier" is available from Touch & Go mailorder for $10, the other 2 will be released later this year) and then they willl start working on a new full-length to probably come out next year sometime, they might re-work some of the solo songs to be full band songs, but mostly it's an experiment in songwriting. Right now they are working on a US and European tour for February and March 2003
