Imo Blood Simple pisses all over Fargo
Pan's Labyrinth...

This film actually pisses me off. Even more emotional manipulation than Schindler's List.

i don't get the slagging of No Country... it's a faithful adaptation of the novel with perfect casting and some incredibly executed scenes (the dog chase is brilliant).

I love that it has no score to accent the intensity or emotion of the scenes. Chigurr is pure evil (he's even worse in the book).

i wasn't taking a dig at you mate... different strokes for different folks and all that.

Personally No Country, Zodiac, and There Will Be Blood were my top 3 movies of 2007... they brought back that 70s style of film-making. 2008 didn't really match up and this year has been fairly disappointing (although the better movies come out in the second 1/2 of the year).
Napoleon Dynamite - loved the opening credits. Thought the rest of the film was trying too hard, so much so that I ended up hating it
District 9 - it was more of a rental when you have nothing else to do type flick
My wife made me watch that god awful 'Revolutionary Road' Roll
What an over rated pile of doggy doo doo.

The film is basically a couple arguing all the way through, then they try to fix their marriage by having a baby, argue some more, wife can't stand it any more and tries to do a self-abortion. Wife dies trying it. Husband cries. I wake up.
Anything Michael Bay makes.
