DJ Paul Loraine
Its always refreshing when a DJ comes along who offers something a little different, the eclectic sounds of Paul Loraine has made many house music aficionadoâs sit up and take note. One particular Media labeled him âThe Peopleâs DJâ, and to any DJ or Clubber that has witnessed one off his trademark sets, will testify the truth in those exact words.
Paul is driven by an uncontrollable desire â a desire for all genreâs of music and this has seen him do no wrong. At the age of 16 Paul Loraine was mixing up Drum and Bass at Top Buzz a weekly club night for under 18âs. Back in the early days, Paul who desperately wanted to broaden his own music horizons as well as the clubbing scene on offer at the time, decided that it was time to brake the mould, at the age of 20, he formed a fortnightly event consisting of Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Drum & Bass, and eclectic House music, under the guise Innovate held across various venueâs, within a matter of months Base became one of most popular and talked about nights out in the Channel Isleâs.
It became only a matter of time until a door for a secure residency was opened for him, sure enough by the age of 21 he became resident for the Channel Islands hugely popular Global Dance nights - Monkey Night Club, often playing host to such DJâs such as Danny Howles, Lottie, Seb Fontaine, Garry White, Gordon Kaye, Brandon Block, Way Out West, Steve Lawler and Scanners to name but a few, Paulâs blistering warm-up sessions plus many memorable back to back sessions with the Guest DJâs, more importantly Pauls 5 hour monthly resident sets, proved to make a lasting impression and a national name for himself.
Now with over 10 years experience from various bookings in the UK and Europe, including: Devolution â London, Passion â Bournemouth, 360 â Bournemouth, Slinky â Bournemouth, Urban â Bournemouth, Cartel â Portsmouth, Blue Rooms â Portsmouth, Silk â Glasgow, Debunk â Edingburough, Positiv+ - Jersey, Theory In Practice â Jersey, L'Amour - Paris, also Djing in association with the likes of: Home, Slinky, Hed Kandi, Gatecrasher, Ministry Of Sound, Pacha, 360 Degrees, Theory In Practice, Bristolâs very own Buoyancy plus many more.
Paul also has various features/reviews within Mixmag, Muzik, IDJ, NME, Night Moves and Club-On magazines, a huge back catalogue of highly acclaimed promotional CDâs, numerous radio appearances with Kiss FM (London), Fire (Bournemouth), Vibe Zone (Island FM), plus productions within his studio under various guises and with co-producer Dave Bichard (Accesz) at Island Studioâs under the title Zerostat. Paul Loraine has stamped his mark within the progressive house industry and rightfully earned his place as a true working DJ.
Rave reviews describe Paul Loraine as:
âpure energyâ, coupled with an eye for crowd control, this is a name to look out for, a truly original talent,â according to Londonâs Evening Standard
Muzik Magazine was just as impressed âIt is refreshing to see a DJ at one with his audience, having this rapport is one reason why he will always be a consistent drawâ.
AL'Tourettes
AL Tourettes (Alec Storey) developed Tourette's syndrome as a child. Alec soon realised that communication would be difficult without offending others continually, and so turned to music as his sole form of communicating. Initially using the drums as his tool, he started DJ'ing and producing tracks at the age of 15 after attending a free party in the burgeoning Norfolk Techno scene. With his sound system (Molotov) Alec quickly become known for his ferocious Electro and Techno sets in numerous fields and forests in the UK and Europe, before migrating to the warmth and sanitisation of the Bristol Club circuit.
With the aid of medication alec has since mellowed a little and his music now also encompasses a warmer tech house sound but with Techno at its root. His House sets range from the deep and melodic music of artists such as , Matthew Jonson, Isolee and Ricardo Villalobos to more off kilter tracks from artists like, John Tejada, Panty Tec, Matthew Dear and Akufen. Please be aware that any uncontrollable outburts or facial contortions on his part are purely scientific and in the event of any such mishap should be seen as completely natural.....
