that's what happens when you do a good tune man! Hahaha

nah, seriously, it's posssssibly cos of 'pressure' - every single person i know has had the same thing when they did a tune or two that people really liked... suddenly it isn't so easy any more.

best advice there is 'fuck em'. bet you any money you think about what other people might think when you are starting/doing something... it's inevitable, cos it's a new thing - 'shit people might actually hear this! Nervous '.

forgive me if i'm wrong... just been through it, and seen enough people with the same thing.

let's hope so. the music's in there somewhere just a matter of not thinking too much so it can come out.

all just my opinion, i don't mean to do some half arsed psycho analysis on you Oops

haha no worries, i guess that means i don't have to pay you Icon_razz

i'd say you would've been right a year ago when photek signed the tune, but my output since then has been pretty weird (in a way that i like though)...

i'd say the only pressure is to be more proficient at it, as i was making tunes pretty quickly 6 months ago and have pretty much slowed down to a crawl by this point.

and i kinda agree with what you're saying about people hearing it, but it has to match my own standards first, and i think my problems begin there, before i even let other people hear it :d
let's share some struggle here Smile

some of the above sounds familiar, be it in a different way. i had my first twelve out late 2004 when i had been making music for only a year and a bit and i knew shit about the technology behind it and how to do a proper mixdown. the fact that i started caring about that later means that finding out how to produce and mix decently is now slowing down the actual music making... necessary but frustrating. i spent nuff afternoons 'improving' mixdowns to discover the next day i only made things worse. JEDIcrying

i did manage to make a few tracks i'm still happy with but wasted my time with finishing dozens of half-arsed ones too. not really had to do with pressure, just my own dumb ass fixation on wanting more records out and mindlessly working on stuff that i should've binned cos it just wasn't worth the effort.

the good thing is recently i kinda regained my sense of where i actually wanted to take it when i started, which is still the way to go. now just trying just to make what comes naturally again and hoping to bring back the fun. it's going better since a few months.

in short: "where was i, before i was so rudely interrupted?" Hahaha

Been listening to lots of Blockhead and classical music... getting really mellow lately. Damn work making me all tired.
