my cartridge (input needed!)

First off, please don't tell me "well you shouldn't have bought that cartridge". I found it out the hard way, and I'm a fool for it.I foolishly purchased an Ortofon Pro S cartridge & stylus (spherical) not realizing that this combo rolls off high frequencies and has a VERY HIGH output. All I want is clarity (broad frequency response?). I don't scratch, and I'm not too concerned about mixing - all I'm really concerned about is clarity for recording. If I can avoid putting extra burn on my records, tha'd be a plus.

I can't make up my mind if I should keep my cartridge and buy a different stylus or buy an entirely differnet cartridge/stylus. I'm pretty sure that any stylus I use with my present cartridge will still result in overwhelming low frequency response, rolling off high frequencies, and have a very high output... but I thought I'd ask some questions first.

I'm all ears for suggestions ( but I think I should have gone with a Shure cartridge not intended for scratching)
