Vintage reverb units, Old or new digital reverb units....anything.I know nothing about em.

I've been kinda dissatisfied with software/DSP cards lately. I was curious to see if anyone on SC uses reverb units or outboard multi effect processors instead of VST plugins and such.

yes, a few people, me included use a combination of external and internal plugins.

its such a huge topic, hence why i asked about budget to narrow it down somewhat

the lexicon mx 200/400 units are good value for money - and they use vst plugins to control the hardware. sound great but you do need a spare pair of in/outs ..
budget i use the free voxengo thing

otherwise just started using UAD verb Smile
Fushara
I use a TC Eletronics M-One.....

Nice smooth reverbs....loads of different types/presets.....plus delays, eq, phasers, and compressors also included.....

XAF.
Lexicon MPX100 Cool

id stick with a decent convolution verb in that price range.

if you are stuck on hardware you may find a bargain in the form of some of the older lexicon or tc boxes, but they are generally good at a few verbs and the rest are average. Im not a fan of the newer budget boxes.

im curious to find out how an old yamaha reverb unit from the 80's sounds. browsed through some on ebay... don't think I'd buy anything without hearing it first tho.

You need Phil Collins, an electric kit and a gate to be 100% sure Teef

I can feel it

I actually own a record with him drumming, and its not genesis. They must have gone to the same art school, or cried together in the same cafe Teef
