photek amens question???

Ok so I recently purchased the Behringer MDX 2100. which is pretty much the same as the Ultrafex MDX 2000.

I ran an amen through it and put it on Auto mode (which is RMS compression) and did some lite eqing on my mackie 8bus desk and voila photek amen (ala Drift to the centre).

i'm sure if i put it into my sampler at a lower sample rate (photek had a roland w30 that ran at 30khz 12-bit)

so the "secret" is a cheap plentiful compressor that most "serious" studio people think is a joke running at an automatic setting ha.

Hahaha yeah, i think a lot of the naivety of good producers early stuff is overlooked all too often - such a big part of what people do in their 'formative' years is just simply enjoying writing and not really trying to perfect particular techniques at all, i reckon
