Cubase crashed while I was working on a song, and now every time I try to open the file it freezes my computer.

Is there any way I can modify a projects settings (i.e. unload plugins, freeze tracks etc.) without having to open them in cubase first? or am I just screwed?

Ahh shit man i dont think there is any way to modify a project without opening it. You may be screwed if the project file is corrupt, you can rescue any audio from the project folder though and any other settings you have saved.

I'm good now.

opened the project, smoked a ciggarette, ate a muffin, and when I came back I found out my kick drum freeze was fuckt. Took forever to load.

I had multiple projects saved to the same folder. Sooo....

Now I watch out for that and freeze tracks more often.

i try & do multiple savings now....can end up with about 30 different savings of each track.

Then at the end of the week or month I just back it all up to dvd & get rid of them off the hard drive.

hahaha, jackstrap and mustache in the same sentence is automatically funny no matter what.
Its pretty good doing multiple savings because if you have a tendency, like me, to over produce on a track and get carried away. You can always look back to your savings and pick a good starting point. Though you do end up with muliple versions of the same track.
