VARIOUS ARTISTS â LIKEMINDED ARTISTS EP â BACKLASH
Having just recently released the debut vinyl 12â for Backlash, Outrage is set to keep that âback to the futureâ vibe going with this, the first MP3 release for Backlash! Gremlinz and Stranjah tap into the vintage vein with âBeware! The Boy In The Cornerâ, which is far from your cookie-cutter dancefloor hooliganry that infiltrates many a dancehall. This one is both âHeadz drenched classic jungle mania and Horsemen-bred B-Boy beats, from the unconventional progression of the hectic drums to the washes of sound that flow throughout this track. This one is for those who remember how great Jungle used to sound. âOddballâ is a different monster entirely, with Gremlinz and Thought collaborating on a blunted, moody number, complete with that Hip-Hop bounce. This one is all about the vibe: it establishes its groove and keeps you locked. The tempo is such that, not unlike Amit productions, this one can be placed inside a forward-thinking DnB set as well as your more cloudy Hip-Hop excursions. These beats are too cold, and this is something one should expect from future Backlash releases!
