Im not disagreeing, but why?

well, you can show the globe on it or use it as a crystal ball for fortune-telling
it can be useful on something like reactable as you get more easily-reachable screen. we'll see if it becomes something more than attraction.

Im not sure how lucrative the crystal ball industry is either

If its a prototype with a point (not just showing off), im sure Microsoft have many different applications for it lined up.
