As a producer Dillinja has set himself the target to make dancefloor tunes now, these may not be as complex as something by Paradox or Breakage but they work better than in most situations than said artists, people seem to expect dillinja and lemon to be producing tracks like they used to well face it they ain't, they won't be doing that sort of thing for at least the near future.

I don't think they should ever go back to the way they made tracks at all. They need to just continue what they are doing. I don't think it matters though whether the tune is complex or simple or technical or nontechnical - its about the whole song - in my opinion, lemon d has still got it - but I just don't like all the dillinja things, they don't hurt me at all in the way that massive and those tunes did (comparing is natural). I think a lot of it is all about context - and a lot of dj's play their tunes in a real shit context! Last night I was mixin Paradox tunes with Full Cycle with New Identity, Reinforced, Metalheadz - and it worked really well - but dj's don't do that no more - its not about the styles you play, its about the labels you display!

Depends which DJs you talk about people like Andy C and Grooverider i agree with you but they aren't the best DJ's around look at Bailey the last set i heard of his he included tracks like Good Girl by Dillinja of the new album and new Calibre tracks.

that's thr problem...promotion has always been an integral part of this, but there's more promotion branding than ever imho. that's what fucking it up. it's about selling it, and i think it needs to be sold, but it doesn't need to be solely about selling it.

bailey is a dj's dj so he can do whatever he wants..he promotes the music first, whereas andy c has a label to support & a sound to support and records to sell. i wouldn't slate dillinja if there was progression or at the very least, a little more variety in his production. commercial records are fine by me if they are doing something with the production...you can at least respect it even if you don't like it. and dude needs to get paid, but just not like this. he's gonna sell himself short.
