i was getting a little fed up of deliberately underestimating the highs on my hd600s and did a bit of research. rather than spend £100+ on a custom cable, i bought that for £20.

i've just been swapping the cables and wow. it's a subtle wow, but a wow nevertheless. it's like a nice genetle high shelf from 3k or so upwards, a little smidge of that warmth eased back and a little touch more bass. sublte, but the high end thing grabs the attention straight away with the right material. i also noticed a part panned to the left i'd never noticed before in a reference tune i must have listened to 8000 times.

a very good £20 to spend if you feel you'd like a little more detail/high out of the hd600.

Really, fukkin ell. It's almost like having new cans on some things. Clearer, crisper, but still the HD600.

Nice. I'm interested in knowing what tunes you use as reference..
nice am thinking of upgrading my cans this christmas... may add that to the list!
Awesome. This is what I need. I felt the 600s had "duller" highs compared to my Beyers so I was constantly switching back and forth. Thanks Smile
After a few days, I don't notice it at all now... Be interesting to go back to the other cable in a few weeks Smile

ordered!
is it a better cable or just a different cable?

like i read the 650s are fairly different than the 600s anyway so that some people prefer the 600 even though the 650 is more expensive..

it is a better, different cable Hahaha

600s and 650s are different, even with the cable changed, but the 650 cable does improve the 600s noticeably Yes the 600 cable is the one thing that comes in for serious criticism (as opposed to just not liking the 600 sound). considering i've spent £fuckloads this week, this is still going to rate as a very good £20, well spent.

although i haven't actually tried out the more expensive stuff yet, so perhaps i should shut up Teef wait til i hit the g14 Hahaha

interesting I never thought of buying different cables! How does that change the sound so much, and why dont they just use better cables on the cheaper ones?.. Still wow, pretty smart idea..
