Who knows what about a Snakestyle / Black Rose VIP is what I need to know aka confirmation as to whether or not I really heard something like this when I was at a mystic place...

i've heard of that too, but i think people are probaly talking about the original "snakestyle". it has amen, hints of it sound a lot like "black rose" (sounds like it was made around the same time as "black rose", or perhaps since they scrapped the amen and other stuff from the released version of "snakestyle" they implemented some of the same ideas into "black rose" later).

the story is (according to what dev told me) this was the orginal version of "snakestyle" but it never got released (dev told me he told them at the time the breaks were too loose, but i'm sure there may be other reasons too), and they put out the later version of "snakestyle" instead (flip of "exit 9")...

i actually have an mp3 of the amen version of "snakestyle". it was ripped from a dubplate. fucking amazing tune imo... if it is indeed the original version, then that dates it back to '95, or perhaps even '94 (the 12" with the other version was released in '95). that makes it very ahead of it's time. the break switching, the e.q.ing, even the vibe (the darkness... they deserve as much credit for techstep as the no u-turn camp imo). nothing of the sort was being made during that time.
