On the DJ tip, if you're not using timecode vinyl I'd really recommend Traktor over Serato. More FX, more decks and it can be used with just about any MIDI controller. Set up Beat Grids for your tracks (like in Ableton) so you don't have to worry about beatmatching, then you can use the time to add other things like loops, samples in the extra decks and tweak the fx. Fun times.
