How shall we do this?
Same rules as the 1st time, that is, no rules other than each track must be 60 secs in length.

re the rules: probably the less the better, but some kind of collaborative angle would be good sample wise.
any restrictions on style of music?

has any consideration been given to doing it in association with a netlabel; like dbm, pineys or myself?.. to give it some more long lasting exposure & added assitance in promotion.

No restriction on musical style whatsoever Cool

That's an interesting idea Tim Chin. If we did that, I think it would be good if we could not restrict ourselves to just one label. Any extra exposure has to be a good thing, so we should consider it. Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Cool.. just a matter of deciding the best way to do it. Im surprised the first one wasn’t done under sc-digital. several labels would be good. Seems to fit more along the lines of the sc-affiliated labels doing free releases.Would just help it getting out there over a longer period. The first one probably didn’t get the kind of exposure it deserved as was a bit hidden away after the initial release period. Im happy to help while keeping the autonomy of everything to do with the tunes and art with the release organisers.

Any thoughts on whether it will be one long 60 minute track again or individual tunes or something along the lines of 6 x 10 minute segments.

First option seems to be caning it in the poll currently. If that gets the nod would Option 5 (remixing tracks from the first 60x60) still be an option? with requests being sent out to the original producers for the samplepacks.
Dialogue dub hot lines under a rain of drum http://www.materializmrecordings.com/
Count me in again , not bothered which rules are used, just let us know what, when and where

Before I vote.. would a remix mean that only sounds of the original track can be used?

Count Uncertified Music as one of the release partners.

We can set up free downloads on the record stores as well I think, so each label involved could do that.

Not to mention to all chip in and get it on the big stores through http://www.tunecore.com. Xyxthumbs

I think we ought to host it on archive.org and then all participating labels, blogs, etc can just link to the archive.org page.

In the original thread, the sample pack idea got thrown around, but a lot of us do not have our samples anymore (me included).

Whatever we do, I think it should be one long 60 minute track. If we do go with option 1, which is looking highly likely at the moment, I don't see why remixing a track from the first one wouldn't be ok, as there are no rules. But as Nic pointed out, some people no longer have their samples so that could be tricky - and kind of makes the last couple of options a bit moot.

nope, it would work like a normal remix - additional sounds would be ok. also bear in mind that we won't be able to get clean samples for all the original tracks.

archive.org seems like a good idea, and there's nothing to stop us hosting it elsewhere too.

i was thinking of entirely new samples with the samplepack option, but not having access to everyone's samples from the original 60x60 would make the last 2 options difficult - and it would be a logistical nightmare JEDIcrying

This is a very big point!
