Headphone lead breaking

Despite my thread earlier, apparantly I can't listen to music at work, properly anyway, because my headphone lead has gone frail, and I have to position it slightly outside the slot on my laptop, and hold the stupid lead in a really particular position to get all the frequencies coming through. When I move it keeps going to treble, mids and no bass, or any re-arrangement of those three, but not all three.

These are Sennheiser HD 205s, so I expected a bit more. Probably don't have the receipt (yeah, I know, not a good move), so can you get new cables for these things anywhere? Would rather not buy a new pair. Cheers.
Icon_evil This is fucking annoying.

I'm trying to learn from the mistakes of the past by not smashing the whole thing apart in frustration (as I did to a my laptop power lead when that had a similar problem).

I tried to find the chucking a computer emoticon, but can't find that, which is making me more irritated!
I might actually just go back to listening out of my computer speakers as I had t when on the phones at work, which are obviously dire, but at least it won't be irritating. It's like when you have some headphones and one side stops working. It gets so annoying, I'd rather not use them.

woooooohhhhwww... bad mood..

Fauxpas
A surprisingly chirpy mood actually Smile (grimacing behind that smiley, haha).

I avoided too much red mist, so that's progress.
most sennheisers have replaceable leads, available from any decent hifi or dj store. i get through at least one new lead a year, which is much better than one new pair of headphones a year like it was in the long long ago before i bought my HD25s...

Ah the good old HD25s. I'm still using my original ones I won through DJ mag in 1997 Grin One side is starting to die but luckily it's not the side I use.

New earpads and that's all I've ever needed. Does need new pads on the headband, they lose their covering years ago.
Ah, good news. Smile
The upside to this shit is that I can get some cool sounds by twiddling the wire and shiftin the lead in and out the slot, such as snares and no kicks, and some sounds akin to those you get by playing with filter-like effects on some mixers. Cool

sorry to hear, bad headphones can ruin your life. lol @ chucking them in anger (not that ive done that before Oops)
my producing headphones are sennhiser hd535 and the leads were fucking £30 there well shite quality parts.
got a love/hate relationship with headphones, broke so many.

cracked the housing on my sennheiser hd 555's a couple of days ago, think it's only cosmetic though. but there still sick. lovely soundstage.

think i'm gunna go for some hd 650's or beyerdynamic dt770 pros next.. decisions, decisions. Chin
Fuck replacing this lead. I've discovered some wicked effects with this. Grin Being able to hear the placement of all the frequencies by twiddling the end of the lead is a bit of an experience. Proper finnicky to do so though and position it just right, but this is more than just a novelty when it works- it helps me to isolate the elements in the tune for each frequency.
some sugg's are welcome headphone cru - grazi
