can anyone please list me some analog multi band compressors?

are there any decent ones below £1000 ?
Macc's ya man.
Why?

A good analogue multiband (ie, worth using) will set you back plenty more than a grand!

I meant 'why an analogue multiband?'. What makes you think you need one?

Lol

yea, all the ones that looked any good were about 5 grand.

doesent really have to be analog (looking at the prices), but i prefer hardware (with real knobs)

want it mainly for treating breaks, i want to control what frequencies trigger the compression..

the lower end usually gets more compression than the hi's
split your freq bands up, treat them with seperate compressors
Yep, doesn't get simpler than that. Easiest way to do it all is just separate the bassdrums and snares from the rest of the breaks.
hmm..

il try that.

but wont the hats or rides that hit with the kick and snare sound odd doing it like that?

like, if i use a low ratio on the kick, high ratio on the rest, surely the hat that hits with the kick will be more present than the rest?

It gets much simpler.

Eq it right
Compress

No fuking about :P

@ Shift: If you want to adjust which frequencies trigger the (fullband) compression, then you need an eq in the sidechain. If you want to adjust which frequencies get compressed, then you need an MB comp. Different thing.

can you list some? :P

just wanna check out whats out there, google is shit.
cool.
have not used the side chain with eq on my compressor.
but i do want more overall control of what frequencies get compressed.

looks like il be sticking to software until im rich, lol.
Try Voxengo Marquis - sidechain eq built in. Good plugin comp too.
