I've spent most of tonight doing menial shit like tidying up/cleaning out the fish tank/getting some food in etc, followed by slobbing out with a couple of beers on the sofa. Was there for a couple of hours until the telly finally numbed my mind completely, so decided to give the dog his last walk of the night.
Wasn't quite ready for 100% atmosphere now i've just stepped outside
Black skies and low, streetlight orange/grey clouds, glimpses of stars poking through... really strong wind (but nowhere near cold) - dead leaves dancing about everywhere.
the best bit is the silence; there's no traffic noise or people anywhere, just the ghostly, but loud sound of the wind and leaves, and signs and wooden fences creaking away
I didn't even realise it was Autumn until just now, or rather, for me it wasn't Autumn until literally just now - amazing.
Sorry for the soppiness, but it just gets me every time
Yeah man, saw untold birds flying in groups and buggering off for the winter yesterday. So many that I actually noticed it

Mate, that's a hell of a shout! lying here wondering what to fall asleep to, and that'll end the autumnal night vibe perfectly
(also will block out the sound of the dog, who I can hear has just started to shag his cushion )
Nice
That'll be the change of the season

It happens at this time of year... I mean, I just caught myself rogering a pouffe

I love this time of year mate It's just like that where I live.
Best part is the lack of cold TBH.

I always felt, that Burial is more like a huge city/ghetto romantic. The one, that drives the bus home late night with only few people around. Surrounded with huge grey concrete buildings. Distant, cold lights... So on.

I love the change of season too. Summer is all good, but when the nights start drawing in, temperature starts to drop at night, it all starts feeling like the old days of after school gaming / mixing.
Then the nights stay dark too long, I get depressed and can't wait for the summer again. Usually happens the day after Boxing Day when there's actually no need for winter to be around anymore. I've had my birthday, had my christmas presents, get fucking light and warmer again
Anyone for conkers?
I absolutely the seasons.
If it's sunny weather, get yer arse outside!
If it's shit weather, stay indoors!
If it's raining and you're bored, go to the pub or cinema!
If it's snowing or there's a storm, talk about it with everyone you know!
Some of my fave weather scenarios:
Cold as fuck day, crispy grass, clear sunshine.
Sunny day, low wind speed.
Cloudy skys, torrential rain, dark by 7 o'clock.

For the fucking win
We seem to be getting more torrential rain these days as well coupled with storms. I love it.

Likewise, love a good storm, we get terrible storms here, no oomph at all, just a little bit of thunder and a 2 minute lashing.
I noticed the seasons had changed when I started wearing more than T-shirt and shorts to work at 8am last week.
The car heater even made an appearence this week (car is parked in the shadow of a block of flats)
I got the first of the seasons Whitelines snowboard magazines yesterday
This means I can stop getting depressed when i see pictures of snowboarding or videos and start getting excited about the new season!!
Winter FTW!
reading about all this enthusiasm for Autumn/Winter (esp liking the descriptive stuff ), it looks like it's not just me then!
love heavy storms when it really lashes it down out of nowhere
Yes yes!! Love the change of seasons...Don't get me wrong, I like summer, but the cold and gray are great for being indoors and mixing records for hours on end...
...and also sleeping for 12 hours on days off when it's shitty outside.....HIBERNATION!!

Tell me about it man! About 2 weeks ago we had one of those weeks were it just poured for about 2 1/2 days straight, stayed holed up in my room blasting tunes with all the windows wide open. Provides such a nice ambience to whatever you're listening too. (at the time F&N's clissold was working the best with the rain!)
rain crew ahoy!
