When are we actually going to do something about this mini Hitler?

i mean already hes either directly or indirectly guilty of........

dictatorship
corruption
genocide (a few times)
inciting racial hatred
Beatings
Murder
Torture
Theft

and we havent done anything apart from a few miesly Eu sanctions that are hurting innocent citizens and not targeting the guilty party.......
The Queen sent him a commemorative silver plate this year to celebrate 20 years of his leadership. How poorly-informed is that?

There are a lot of filthy regimes and dictatorships all over the world, African nations, Indonesia, Myanmar, Tibet to name a few, but none of them have oil/trade/minerals to offer us so we pretend it's not happening. It's all national politics in the end; humaniatarian thinking doesn't exist when you're in a country where charity begins at home.

word.........

All this stuff is a part of the post Imperialist state.
This cuntry (deliberately mis-spelt!!) has a fucking responsabilty to the countries that we pulled out of and "gave back" to the people.its shameless, its irresponsible and ITS WRONG!!
zimbabwe is not a major oil player, or near to developing nuclear weapons.

so they are on their own.

although... they are(were) a major tobacco player... so i am surprised there hasn't been more pressure on the american government from the big companies...
and now the fucking cricket is gonna be over there as well.

this is so wrong its sickening.

Not thru choice though ...... they have to honour contracts that were signed about 2 years ago by the the main cricket council in the UK. Who intresting enough are run by a man who used to be a small time Labour MP.

Anyone else smell something fishy !!??
the english cricket team just issued a statement saying they don't want to tour there.

good on them for stating their opinions despite their boards view.
the government stepped in too fucking late as usual as to create a scapegoat so we all think that they're not too bad "....at least they said something"...........

cunts...cunts....cunts....

i quote "sport is not political....." -Critish cricket board

LIKE FUCK! World cups and other mass sporting events are entirely political as to their location and injections on money etc etc..... Who the fuck are they trying to kid?

WHY OH WHY ARE WE TOLD SO MANY LIES???
the new zealand cricket team has said that even if their board says they must play in kenya, they wont. kenya has not been able to assure security measures for the game, the country has been the focus of several al qaeda terrorist attacks over the past few years and this kind of high profile sporting event with international coverage, involving a nation thats part of the afghanistan coalition....

anyway... the point is, if they don't want to play, they should just refuse. this would cuth the legs off the cricket board.

seriously... sport is politics...

take for example... nelson mandela... who was it he thanked when he was released from prison? he thanked the all blacks rugby team for refusing to tour. rugby being the sport white south africans live for... it sent a clear message that even though our government can't do anything to intervene, our people find the situation unacceptable.

cricket is zimbabwe's main summer sport. until 2000, cricket games stopped the nation. black and white.

fucking WORD.
Don't forget that the All Blacks had been touring South Africa for years before they stopped. It was only after pressure from many nations and the withdrawal of African countries from the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Back to Cricket....

Let's not give the English cricketers too much credit. They only said they wouldn't play after death threats were sent to them.
Before that they would have gone on the decision of the ICC and the government.
The fact that the government and the ICC could not agree on a decision did not help matters.

But I suppose you can't really blame the cricketers, to expect the cricketers to make the decision on their own is not easy when the ICC say one thing and the government say another.

Does anyone know who sent the death threats? Funny how things turn out, if those letters had not been sent where would we be now?

I can't believe politicians expect us to swallow that comment about sport and politics not being connected!?!
That’s never happened at the Olympics has it?????

London, 1908: Finland, then ruled by Russia, were told that they could not march with their own flag. The furious Finns elected to march with no flag at all.

Amsterdam, 1928: The first Olympics that women were allowed to participate in track and field (despite objections from Pope Pius IX). Previously, women's summer sports had only included swimming, diving, and tennis.

Berlin, 1936: Adolf Hitler and his Nazi followers felt sure that the Olympics would be the ideal venue to demonstrate Germany's racial superiority. Despite the state's attitudes, German crowds applauded Jesse Owens, a black American athlete, as he stole the show by winning four gold medals.

London, 1948: Although much of the British capital had been reduced to through bombings, the games were held in London. Germany and Japan were not invited. The Soviet Union was invited, but chose not to appear.

Mexico City, 1968: Ten days before the Olympics over 30 Mexico City university students were killed by army troops when a campus protest turned into a riot. Black Americans Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave the Black Power salute during their national anthem as a protest against racism in the U.S. They were immediately thrown off the team by the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Munich, 1972: Eight Arab commandos slipped into the Olympic Village, killed two Israeli team members and seized nine others as hostages. Early the next morning, all nine were killed in a shootout between the terrorists and West German police. The competition was suspended for 24 hours and a memorial was held before the games continued.

Montreal, 1976: 32 nations, most of them from Africa, walked out when the International Olympic Committee refused to ban New Zealand because its national rugby team was touring racially-segregated South Africa.

Moscow, 1980: Over 60 nations stayed away from the Moscow games in support of the American-led boycott to protest the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Others, such as Britain and France, while supporting the boycott, allowed their Olympic committees to participate if they wished.

Los Angeles, 1984: The Soviet Union and 13 Communist allies stayed away for the West's snub of Moscow in 1980.

And let's see what happens at Beijing 2008. beach volleyball in Tiananmen Square anyone?
yes.

this is all true.

but that just reflects the different governments in this country...

the national party government was anti sport and politcs mixing so sports contacts were maintained, the labour government was against associating with south africa(same government made us anti nuclear too) so when they were in power, there were no contacts.

the olympic debacle helped bring down the national government in a few years later. as did the divisions, and mass protests caused by a south african rugby tour in 1981. where there were riots in the streets, and police had to put up barbed wire and use teargas at rugby games. it wasn't just official policy that helped. when international tv shows hundreds of thousadns of new zealanders clashing violently in the streets over a rugby tour... that sends a message.
