Pizza toppings

In parallel with Loris' excellent sandwich thread, what do youse guise put on your homemade pizzas? I'm thinking of knocking one up tonight, and fancy something other than standard mushrooms / peppers / cheese.

I need to be veggie, but for the greater good, feel free to let fly with any topped-bread ideas that take your fancy....
Chop a red onion into quarters. Toss it about in a little olive oil and then place in a preheated oven at 200c.

Meanwhile.... tail some asparagus, wash and dry, then roll in salt pepper and a little balsamic. These can be cooked in the oven (with the onions) for ten minutes, which at this point should be nice and hot (which is what asparagus needs).

Meanwhile.... ( Teef ) remove an egg from the fridge. Grate in a bit of parmesan and whisk for a few seconds until the yolk has disappeared.

Presumably your pizza base with cheese & tomato is ready at this point, so remove the onions and asparagus from the oven, bung on top of the pizza, then pour over your egg mix. Getme.

You can now stick your creation back in the oven and then marvel from the outside at how good it's going to taste. Remember to up the temperature a little!

After a few minutes remove the pizza. Now take a stop watch out of the draw and see how fast you can eat it Xyxthumbs
HAS to have olives (green or black) imo.

SO, olives, obviously tomato sauce (with mixed herbs), sliced cherry tomatoes, red onion, mushroom, very thinly sliced courgette, shit loads of black pepper Xyxthumbs
olives, onions, tomatoes, peppers, anything you like really - but add a bit of basil and oregano for a real improvement.

:yum:
just had one with red onions. good stuff.

Red onion, green olives, capers, spinach.

Once your cheese is on sprinkle over some oregano and about a teaspoon of those lovely toasted Turkish chilli flakes.

I'm not seeing any meat here. Did you leave this out as a test to see who was reading it all the way through? I mean, this is like some serious foreplay but without wanting to sound like Paris Hilton, I want meat.
roasted garlic cloves (whole)
olive oil
sun dried tomatoes
green chili
mozzarella
a touch of goat cheese
prosciutto or bacon
tomato sauce (mixed with red chile if green is unavailable)
I usually get dough from a local bread store
extra cheese
ham and pineapple

Fauxpas
Ended up with strips of roast aubergeine, roasted red onions, olives and feta.

Like the look of Loris and Ben's suggestions, though, will try them when I get the chance.

Tuna makes for a surprisingly good curry when you're in a hurry.

There you go. Not only food advice but probably chorus lyrics in the next Ting Tings hit.

Yes!!
I'll roast some veg (aubergine, courgette, red onion, garlic, tomato, mushroom) in olive oil, salt and pepper first (enough to last as general veg usage for the week), then I'll put that on a half cooked Margherita pizza. Heavy. Always add some dried oregano to your pizza to lift the flavours too. Oh, and don't forget to drizzle a little olive oil over it at the end as well. Sorted.

Fior di latte
basil
fresh tomatoes
pepper
smoked sea salt
EVOO

home made pizza base is always the best. NO RED SAUCE! i prefer over ripe tomatoes chopped up, lightly salted then left to drained a bit. spread them over the pizza, add smallish whole basil leaves and torn up cheese. gernerous pour of oil and loads of cracked pepper. once its done put some of the salt on.
simple...

have 1 of those at home and they are really good
selfmade tomato sauce (tomatoes, basil, garlic, onions, oregano, salt, pepper, bit of cream), cheese (half mozarella, half gouda), turkish salami, mushrooms, more garlic.

after baking add some parma ham and coarsley grated parmesan. nice.
You subverts know how to make quite the pizza pie!!
