Just arrived from JRR in the US. Didnt have to pay VAT either - bargain. About £250 cheaper than the UK in the end. $650 free vouchers too!

Now have 1xDuo and 1xQuad overtaken Macc's fetish (although hes got a new one... )

This is my last studio purchase for a long while, gone a bit nuts this year. Tend to go mad every 2-3 years then buy nothing.

Going to pick up the manley, harrison and 4k bus comp unless something nice pops up before end of september - got around $720 of vouchers up my sleeve. Free plugins ftw!

How did you avoid the vat mate?

I dont know... JRR said id have to pay it on delilvery, but i didnt have to ?

Hoping i wont get a letter but usually when ive done this before ParcelForce charge me. This was FedEx, maybe thats why?

As its 'computer parts' its not liable for 'import duty' but JRR thought it was due for VAT. Mayeb a mistake at JRR? VAT is a duty on purchasing goods in this country i think, so maybe not applicable?

Either way im not sure. Itll still save about £120 if i do get stung, that will be a pisser if it happens, but fingers crossed it wont.

my quad flexi just sits rotting in its box, i couldn't even use it if I wanted to And now the echoplex! i'm tempted to sell just the card on ebay, keep the plugs, and use the cash to buy a uad solo-laptop card.

otherwise i need to sell the whole thing before UAD release any more plugs!!

But because of the additional discount, it was free free free!

Actually, just got the invoice thru, UA effectively paid me $13.16 to take the Echoplex.

I was a runner up too ! there were 264 entries!
