do any of you remember the name of the series of short films he had on his web site?
the short films were about 5mins long and were basically just normal people telling about their lives
i am not sure but could it be the "interview project" ?

definitely!
Pretentious crap tbh...

I was somewhat impressed by David Lynch movies until I saw Inland Empire in the theatres and it was some kinda turning point which turned me to realize that Lynch is fooling ya all to believe there's some deeper meaning in all the garbage he's doing. Eraserhead and Lost Highway are certainly visually impressive and atmospheric but lol... It can't be helped if one points the "2deep4u" argument.... Roll

crap...
That's what I was looking for Smile , thank you.
working my way though them now

Yeah for the most part , imo the best things he ever done was Blue Velvet/The Elephantman and dune , stuff like rabbits is a load of bollix.

you know, i like the atmosphere in lost highway and it is my favourite movie by lynch (the soundtrack is awesome) , but i think mullholland drive is his best movie.
i know what you mean, three hours inland empire is sometimes hard to watch, because at some point you get lost in the movie, the story etc, and i think you are wrong if you expect some kind of a clue. fact is: there is a story that makes sense behind all the (visual) mysterys. it`s in lost highway and mullholland drive and also in inland empire, but like in the tv show twin peaks for example, the story becomes the minor part.

so i dont think lynch is fooling people. i think the most people are fools if they tell you that they know what it is all about. thats not the deeper meaning in the movies and mysterys.
I don't think the story in Twin Peaks takes a minor part. It's the opposite actually.

Btw arte is currently airing Twin Peaks every Tuesday at 10 PM, in case you haven't seen it or want to see it again.

yeah, saw that the other day. i have the gold box, but thanks Wink

what i mean is, the reason why agent cooper comes to twin peaks is the murder of laura, but along with the investigation many other mysteries around the people came along. the movie blue velvet points in a similar direction with this scene dialog:

SANDY

I can't believe what you're finding out.Are you going to continue with this?

JEFFREY

Yeah.

SANDY

Until when? I mean, what're you gonna do with this stuff?

JEFFREY

Well, I I don't know.

SANDY

You're not going back to her apartment...

JEFFREY

Yeah.

SANDY

Jeffrey, why?

JEFFREY

I'm seeing something that was always hidden. I'm involved in a mystery. I'm in the middle of a mystery. And it's all secret.

SANDY

You like mysteries that much?

JEFFREY

Yeah. You're a mystery. I like you. Very much.

I think that is what can be found in most of lynchs movies and even in his art. ever saw some paintings? some are really weird Smile
