Dear friends,

there's another spot on the yet scarcely drafted map of the Weevil Neighbourhood.
After the broken beats and shuffling breaks of BLINDFOLD, we are happy to announce the next release, a 12" by Steven Porter aka Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo of Kyoto and Osaka, Japan.

The"LR EP", codenamed and catalogue numbered "COMPASS" comes as a three track EP (all untitled), starting up with a massive and intimidating wall-of-sound-drone-o-rama with the occasional gap to let you catch your breath. A2 - more complaisantly and subtlely - meditates on what could be residues of Drum & Bass perceived through an overseas call from your subconscious. After letting you fathom the extremes, the second side of the record is haunted by the perfect mixture of both, resulting in a mindblowing, steam rolling and stumbling monster of a track to shatter the empty dancefloors of your own little mental disco.

Please find audio clips here.

More details and images can be found on Discogs.

The record comes as red vinyl 12", hand-stamped and -numbered, limited to 300 copies for the world. Official release date is set for November 14th, 2011. It'll be available through the usual channels, some of which I'm going to post here in the course of time.

If you want to preorder, please get in touch via E-Mail: info .at. weevilneighbourhood .dot. com

Thanks for your time and interest.

With regards,
Martin / Weevil Neighbourhood

PS: Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo recently launched their own imprint "10-label" with the "MU EP" - not to be missed!

They are for sure. Also check out "Deed" on the first release on 10-label. Absolutely amazing dense sound-o-rama!
Another two weeks to go until the official release of our new "LR EP" by Steven Porter (aka Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo).

We are very excited about the first review of the 12": German De:Bug magazine called it "a masterpiece" and we think it's only fair towards the artists to say (in all modesty possible): we fully agree! Steven Porter have been releasing various amazing remixes and tunes on Spanish forwardthinking label Semantica or their own imprint 10-label amongst others. One of their live performances was released at the Vacu Sessions Blog. We really encourage you to check out their other stuff, it's more than worth it!

We started preparing boxes for the shops and distros already. At the release, we will post a list with sources, shops and mailorders where the record will be available.

Those of you, who have pre-ordered the LR EP in the course of the last three weeks will get their copies by the end of the week already.

In other news, the last few copies of our tape release "Old Weevil Neighbourhood" by Repetition/Distract [PICNIC] are available through Drone Records now. If you missed out on that release, here's your chance!

All best,
Martin
