'Moraine' audio preview next week.

All vinyl purchases from the official Arctic Music store come with free Mp3s.

Arctic Music - The ONLY vinyl Ambient-Jungle label left it the DnB scene, suicidal maybe.. but all done for the LOVE.

Wow....

The bloke who made 'A Certain Sound' is making stuff like this?

Disappointing and rather shameful. Sort yourself out, Dev.

Not sure if serious...

I'm not exactly sure why you would think I wasn't serious. What about my post lacks clarity for you to not understand that I'm well serious?

Because Dev has been has been make beats under the Alaska guise and style since about 1996 or so. This track is not hugely different from anything else on Arctic Music.
I don't understand your apparent, sudden dismay.

Anyway, nice track, whatever happened to the supposed Seba and Lotek reunion on Arctic. I first heard of that a few years ago now.
We've got a massive run of spoof registrations (probably spambots) on here at the moment. I'm having to delete dozens of them every day. This time the new user has said something relevant, even if it seems a bit odd to sign up just to say it. Checking IPs, zedvee is posting from the same address as someone else on this forum, and so may just be an alias. I'm keeping an eye on this anyway.
I didn't think Subvert was busy enough to get trolls tbh

trolls don't discriminate Wink

Hahaha
I see, so having an opinion that doesn't agree with the masses makes me a troll? Smile

Consensus doesn't equal truth. I hope somebody here realises that.
zedvee Wrote:I see, so having an opinion that doesn't agree with the masses makes me a troll? Smile

No, we were talking generally about trolls. I called you an alias not a troll Wink
I am my own person, not an alias. Not afraid of the pack and not afraid to have my own thoughts. Interesting reaction from a group of people here, I must say. I don't like the level that Dev has gone down to and I think it's sad. I can see how people who might also agree wouldn't say anything considering, already, the reaction that I've got. I suppose it will all turn rather thuggish, shortly, as more and more people gang up.
zedvee Wrote:as more and more people gang up.

You've got the wrong forum, buddy. Hahaha

The tracks alright but i won't be buying it. My two cents.

So far you've had one person disagree with you. Law's been here quite a long time, but I don't know that he constitutes a gang exactly :P
Statto, kind of a useless reply, don't you think? Smile

You were also bringing up off-topic 'spam-bot' stuff which gave me the impression you like doing a bit of stirring. I'm happy to reply to you, or others, but this is rather moot.

Yes, I did, in fact, sign up just to speak my mind. My old crew mate Mr. Marwick in San Francisco has brought Dev out to do live PA quite a few times and each time Dev never played the tired old bollocks I just heard today. I'm really disappointed in what he's doing and finally said something.

My point was he has been doing that style of D&B for almost 15 years.
I thought it was a bit strange how you worded it, like it was a complete change of direction for him.
Certain Sound actually came out the same year he first used the Alaska pseudonym.

Your first post seemed rather strange to me. Not so much what you said – just the fact that it was your first post, jumping straight in to slag someone off. That struck me as weird, and I'm on the lookout for anomalous posts and spurious users at the moment, which is why I mentioned it.

Okay, no worries.

I rather think that not agreeing with what someone is doing, and saying something about it, isn't slagging someone off. It's disagreeing and letting them know. Now if I say something to the effect of 'Oi! Dev, you're a right C U Next Tuesday, innit?!' , establishing what I've said as 'slagging someone off' would be correct. I know Dev will see this and I reckon it would be nice for him to understand that not everyone will swallow whatever tosh he flings out there.

Zedvee,

Alaska is an ambient jungle alias purely for 90’s atmospheric DnB.
Arctic Music has kept to its original 2006 mission statement keeping ambient jungle alive on vinyl for a very, very small dedicated fanbase.
The label has released a triple-vinyl artist studio album and seven 12”s to date. The level has never gone down as such, only rising since the birth of Alaska.
The label is not ashamed of its past and current releases and is proud to fly the union jack for ambient jungle.
To the public this style may also be deemed as tired old bollocks.

The 16-year old track ‘A Certain Sound’ was not made by the artist Alaska but by a different artist 'Paradox'.
2011 saw Paradox release over 22 titles across four 12” releases and a 10-track Paradox downtempo/dnb studio album entitled ‘Ramifications LP’.
2012 will also see further Paradox and Alaska 12”s throughout the year.

Beware it's even more ambient than side A.
