Just look at the track list and producers behind it.
New addition to the Mexican Summer Bandcamp page by Dungen and Woods.
Drum Cypha just released 2 tracks on Repertoire.
Dissident - Nothing Outside Nothing (Jason oS remix) is very fine.
So...i don't go by hype, I just listen to anything. And the latest thing I got recommended on my YouTube homepage was "Ganja Burn" by Nicki Minaj:

It has a super hifi quality backing track, although the lyrics are just about seemingly sex and history of sex that's nothing to be ashamed of. The choreography of the vid is good.

Since "Superbass" and the infamous "Anaconda" I kinda avoided Nicki's "Pinkprint" album, but will go and listen to it now on YT, because I've heard bits and they were okay.

Soul Jazz Presents Kaleidoscope: New Spirits Known And Unknown

Whereas it is often the case that true funk runs through the majority of music, I have not been as touched in recent years by any music apart from reissues as this 2CD compilation of underexposed artists on the Soul Jazz Records label. Across 2 discs and twenty-one tracks, including work by various orchestras, Matthew Halsall to open us out and Tenderlonious, an associate of FlyLo, "Kaleidoscope" is a psychedelic a time to spend your days as any, highly addictive to listen to and filled with such a surfeit
for detail that it's hard to find anything that could have been left out. And that - the ability to master to the best bits and have good sound engineers and improvisors - pays dividends for the record's overall staying power. We're reminded of recent jazz funk people's such as Bonobo on Ninja Tunes, Amon Tobin also on that label and further back Average White Band. Relying on a type setting for the instrumental latch, the sounds revolve to just the right length and the playing is peerless to a fault, highly individualised and - what can I say that hasn't been said already? This to me is essential soulful jazz.
