Droppin' Many Ravers... punk, metal, hardcore

I'm really depressed.
I'm really high.
What time is it?
Pigs might fly!

^^ Thank you sir!  I mean, in the lands of barren music forums where we may be only talking to ourselves   Fauxpas  Tumbleweed i guess that may be no mean feat right? Cudos to yourself there as well Muttster.

Music forums, sometimes now a mere sporadic diary of mouse clicks, current mayhems, and sonic memories, its all good.

In contrast to myself, my brother is still a bit of a crate digger of sorts, checking the odd used record, comic book shop & music collector events here and there. The other month, he randomly bought me a copy of "Beyond and Back - The Story of X" paperback book from 1983.  I have no idea what he payed for it in a local used book store, but the book seems to go for higher prices here and there.  Nice quirky find & appreciated via myself. Thanks bro.  Hugs

Likewise, last week he found some Japanese Oi! compilation that had early Eastern Youth songs on it, and played me The Ex Pistols "Schools are Prisons" tune in his car from a Sex Pistols comp he bought @ the collectors event. My bro does that kind of stuff.  He's actively going on a hunt for early reggae / dub comps, blues originals, and goth or industrial comps from back when.   Busy dude.

OOoooh.

dope Polish goth punk stylings via No Smoking, cira 1992    Chin    I approve. Very good!

** random thought while listening:  My Bloody Valentine's "Isn't Anything" sounds quite tame in comparison. Similar tones, Kevin Shields who?

The new Street Sects lp keeps ya guessing.

I ain't mad at it.   Peter Murphy-esque vocals, drum machines, Albini, Big Black mathy angles with Bowie lurking @ the concession stand.

Some people can't carry that off, ya know? Props.   Xyxthumbs

^^  I like the Bad Brains thing.  New Kingdom are eternally weird, for those that appreciated their distorted, purple haze from back when.  I was a casual fan.  Smile

Cheers!

I've never heard much of this dub Brains, 2002 release.  I don't mind it.

I fell in love with Pinegrove this past summer.  Mountain drives.. "Old Friends" randomly on the radio.  It was a moment.

emo kids doing country, roots, perhaps even (sane) Mark Kozelek, Red House Painters vibes at times (?), heh.  Songwriting is on point though.  I appreciate it.

The recent "Skylight" charity lp is great.   Some definite faves of the year no doubt.

This past weekend I was checking out early 80's, blatantly influenced, Killing Joke clone / tribute bands of sorts.

A few of these releases could easily be the "lost" Killing Joke records heh.  Including some of the artwork as well.
