Threw Away My Knowledge Collection 1999-2003

23 Replies, 15662 Views

Recently I did a major cleaning out of my place and came across a stack pf issues of Knowledge Mag. I started to buy it in 1999 but stopped with the April 2003 issue. collection wasn't complete anyways Grin

I only kept one CD: The Streetbeats one "Genre Pollination" which I still play once in a while.

I can't remember when Knowledge Mag started showing up locally in my area back then. Perhaps in record shops first, but most definitely in other non-music, variety magazine shops later on. Interesting then for local magazine shops to have stocked such a music genre specific zine if you think about it. It sort of says a lot when you can sell a dnb magazine back then, much like hip-hop magazines, metal magazines, etc. Particularly in smaller cities, let alone in NA, with often much smaller specific dnb audiences, which was a huge contrast to larger, mainstream UK dnb audiences & attentions of course. I recall Atmosphere Mag was only found in dj record shops for a bit, then later you can find it in a couple local magazine shops outside of the record shops. I never bought many issues of Atmosphere Mag tho.

back in the day... heh.
