Yes I saw that the other day but couldn't be arsed to bother reading it. I can do a list of very good artwork on the label, but they chose to ignore them from the looks of it. A lot of the ones shown were insisted by the artist themselves or followed a specific brief the artist told me and it was up to their approval as I give the artist as much control and input as possible.
Anyway Yawn
I'll reply when I've got time, too busy at the moment with important things Smile
Thread is a bit of a joke , Omni Music got a wide variety regarding art work - Anyways, this might drive some business towards your label so it's all good I say Teef

Besides, since you're outphasing physical releases anyways - artwork won't matter that much, does it?

Apparently so Smile

in fact you could all post your very favourite artwork in this thread and it wouldn't matter, I'd delete it anyway

But most of the posts in that thread are positive - full of praise to music released on Omni and some people even offered their help in graphic side of things (and at least one of them offered his help for free only because he likes Omni Music's music Smile ). Some of Omni artwork is very good (eg. Booca releases or Fr.Om album looks awesome imo for example), some isn't (especially some of older releases). And I would agree that new artwork can draw new listeners to new releases - in oversaturated world of digitally released music it may be even more important factor than in physical releases.

Fully agreed! The user 'Wozowski' not only offered help, he also has knowledge in this branch. I really liked the cover design he showed (even though they're 10 years old) - they are not your usual "Let's take some graphically enhanced, artsy image of an ethereal landscape and put a title on it" type of covers, which are all over the place nowadays!

And personally speaking, if I'v never heard the music before than cover art CAN decide whether I'm gonna listen to it or not. If it's a badly, amateurish made cover than I can't but thinking that it must be some 15 year old kid that just got his 1st copy of Fruity Loops and thinks he's the next big producer.

Was that aimed at Omni? Or just a general comment?
Going to actually have a read of the thread later as I only read the first 2-3 posts when it was initially posted up and I've been too busy with arranging a new place to live to get on the internet properly this week.
Just replied on there.
It ended up much more positive than I expected from when I read the first few posts a few days ago. There were one or two jokers, but there always are on DoA, but surprisingly for that forum it didn't turn nasty like I have seen many many times Smile
All points duly noted and I hold my hands up to the critique. I was going to make a point of saying that they have just ignored all the good art and decided to pick and choose the examples to suit their argument, but decided that may make me look like I was just throwing my toys out of my pram, which I wouldn't be, I would have liked a more balanced look at things.
Aaaanyway, there were some fair comments which I accept and I have to take that on the chin Smile

It was a general comment. Of course I'm familiar with your music, hence why I'm not deviated by the cover art at all. But someone who thinks that way might end up not checking out your releases because he finds the cover art not appealing enough.

You know, we live in a time of digital environment where we are bombarded with loads and loads of music, people barely have the time to listen to all of it, and you just have to stand out in every way possible. I think it's cool that people like Statto don't give a shit about cover art, but I personally believe a nice cover art can be just the right incentive to get people to listen to your music.
Gotcha Smile
