Super compilation packages out in march from astrophonica
Naturally, some subverts appearing on this
Music critic for the Tally Ho
Was looking at this last week, this is brilliant LP for sure
a few things I liked about Astrophonica over the years:
impromptu release schedule - unpredictable, inventive
underexposed styles of music represented = unreprehensible
culturally on the ball...not stuck in a ragga jungle shithole
interesting, reliable artwork system; quite sincere and explicitly done
nice range of artists, old and new, with a coup mentality for the six feet under the stairs.
yeah, lots of stuff to like. don't get I wrong, Moresounds do ragga sounds, but I'm so sick of the raggaman and amen break combo. Moresounds, are, well, giving humans "more sounds".
there's worth musing on the name Astrophonica, as well. what does that really stand? to I this seems to be the cosmos and analogue. plucked like a needle with digital distortion. i'm a fan. in fact I've always been a fan of f&n, since droppin' science's "ayuhuasca".
