Rev Gary Davis – old country blues guitarist ca. 1930
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band – funky modern brass band, incl. the astounding Kirk Joseph on Sousaphone
Fat – noise concrête music (not sure if this is played or constructed)
Conlon Nancarrow – american composer who dedicated (most of) his life to pushing the boundaries of the player piano
The Residents – american art theatre group who pioneered the use of the studio in rock music composition
Mongo Santamaria – leader of foremost latin percussion ensemble
The Undertones – classic N.Ireland pop-punk band (you must have heard Teenage Kicks surely?!)
Victor Malloy – very laid back downtempo stuff from Hefner & crew
Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys – 1940s/50s texas swing; an amalgamation of swing and country, with a silly vocalist going "yeeaaahh" "well alllriiight" at irregular intervals over the top
