i just finished coetzee's "age of iron"...and since i'm keeping myself (in the absense of school) on a rigorous fiction/non-fiction schedule, my next book is going to be jean baudrillard's "screened out".
unless it starts to bore me to tears.
HAHA.
i actually like baudrillard...but i find a lot of his stuff redundant. WE GET IT. simulacrum this! simulacram that!
I'm currently reading an anthology of H.P. Lovecraft short stories I found on a flea market the other day, trashy stuff.

...still consulting "art of war"
3. planning a siege
"the general rule for use of the military is that it is better to keep a nation intact than to destroy it, better to keep an army intact than to destroy it...
...therefore, those who win every battle are not really skillful- those who render other's armies helpless without fighting are the most skillful of all."
"the lowest is to attack a city. Siege of a city is only done as a last resort."
....and it makes me mad, because things i read in the news every day are only the clearest reminder that the military in this country (US)act like they have never even heard of this book.
