using the same set of available parameters shows us how each one of the people involved ends up using them. the interesting part is how each one varies from the next and what the results are....

i was thinking about the best free limiter... there's kjerhaus but it is pc only... but the best limiter is 0db innit :d so let's use that

Yeah, good point! I was looking at it from another angle... It will be interesting to see what different people end up doing with the same bit of gear.
However, I never use something like EQ on a whole break, unless to correct some random frequency somewhere...

well, I'd assume NOT using the supplied plugs is as valid a submission as any.
the purpose should be to generate a discussion about what some effective approaches to dealing with the break are.....NOT touching it could well be one of the better approaches. (depending on the break etc..)
only time will tell....

You lot asked me to do this, and I'm going to have to spend a fair bit of my time listening etc etc etc, so you'll do as yer bloody told!
I'll do a post outlining it all once I have settled on something I reckon is not too tricky, not too easy. I'll specify the criteria on which I'll be listening etc...
I don't want a competition - as dodz quite rightly says, we should be discussing it afterwards, you know - 'I prefer it with a bit less at 700Hz but I like the way you did blah blah' or whatever. And besides, it's all very subjective. Plus there will be rows over who wins the chocolate bar/pat on the back/pint/other imaginary prize.
However, I will be saying which few I think sound best, in my opinion, to my taste etc etc and why.
