madness (track4) = sickest, darkest, sinister swing feel of all time.

it's so extremely wide - one drum kit in one ear, one in the other, and everything spread right out in between Lovesmilie

Classic album. My fav of his, actually. All about that 2nd track. The keys in that kill me. I have them engrained into my psyche.

'it's about that time' is just amazing & 'in a silent way' blows the snot out of much of the post-'bitches brew' work he did, maybe with the exception of 'on the corner' or 'big fun.'

François K - Miles Beyond! The Music of Miles Davis

This documentary program was originally live streamed to twitch.tv/francoisknyc on Saturday February 20, 2021.

It covers the groundbreaking music of Miles Davis, with commentary from your truly as well as many clips from interviews with some of his talented collaborators and former band alumni including Herbie Hancock, James Mtume (R.I.P.), Reggie Lucas (R.I.P.), Chick Corea (R.I.P.), producers Marcus Miller, Teo Macero as well noted icons like Carlos Santana. The emphasis of these selections is on his most fertile 'Electric Miles' period of the early 70's as these years have proven to be the most groundbreaking and arguably still remain a profound influence on much of today's musical culture.
