i agree. are we really trying to make an unnecessary statement here?
i think it should not only be mentioned - it should be aggressively highlighted! this approach so flies in the face of d+b scene logic that it alone is really what make this release unique. otherwise, marketing-wise, we're back to tossing pebbles into the ocean imo...
(plus.. it's a handy little attention-getter and marketing device if ever i saw one )
You should mention non-profit, I never said anything about that.
I agree that it will generate attention, but I do think that if it were one person doing it, I would think 'knob'.

True say, Niphter, true say.
My only concern, was that was making such an emphatic statement, we wouldn't appear at all welcoming to 'outsiders', so to speak, and I don't agree with that at all. That's not to say the hardcore dnb community (a la Rider and Co) would express any interest anyway, but Anti-Industry - a little OTT maybe?
Non-industry might be better, although I think non-profit says everything.

once the accompanying blurb makes the effort to define the difference between the 'industry' and 'music lovers/fans' etc., i don't think that should be a problem. and people in the scene are forever banging on about how they'd love to do this or that but they can't because of market-logic bla bla bla... why not address this head-on?
plus - the industry can be portrayed as a gigantic faceless matrix-style corporation - the kids should have no problem relating to that dystopian portrayal... might even give em something to feel like they're rebelling against..?
(ol' naffles idea revival time? cartoon-style graphics with a little story to illustrate this point? did i ever talk to you about this statto? twas an idea i had many moons ago...)

I'm not interested in subtle marketing though.. not if it's aimed at regular d+b buyers!

Use metaphor/story-telling to frame it in a mythic context.... didn't hurt UR, did it?

That's a point.

its sometimes better to state what you are for rather than what you are against.
people can work the rest out for themselves.
thought the whole point of punk was to say fuck you in the open and without recourse to euphamisms.
what to do what to do...
actually on reflectioni think we should just state what we are for and leave the implications of that for others.
anyway sent my email, so much love for making this happen statto!
