Need a new s-card with adat...

Whats good and not too expensive??

My problem is...

Just built my new mean machine dual pc only to find after days of trying to get my Gina soundcard drivers to install that Echo cards and asus a8v mobos wont fucking work together..only found this out after a quick search on the net after days of trying to install the drivers..never even crossed my mind to check if the Gina would work on my new system

So the bottom line is i am pretty much skint after building the pc and dont want to fork out loads on a new soundcard

Gutted though cos i love my Gina

much more expensive than the emu but very very high quality with budles of ins and outs etc (depending which model you go for) - all down to how much mark wants to spend really

EMU 1820M SOUNDCARD

and ive seen it for 250.00

1820m is the same card as the 1212m but with a breakout box, decent preamps and some more ins/outs.



dsp has one - he can tell you what he makes of the breakout box, but i can tell you that the convertors are superb. i never really considered how much difference convertors can make until i heard them for the first times (playback and recording).

your music will thank you.

as for the drivers, they're fine these days

I originally bought a 1212m and added the 1820m breakout box later. Although this left me with a redundant daughter card, its some of the best money I've spent. Absolutely recommended.

but im assuming he'll be using both analog and adat out to the 01v rather than one or the other...

fack, i paid 430 for mine with the EMu crash X sampler


It is a good card but!! it is a bit shite on the latency if you have to many channels loaded on the patch mix, but it has some of the best routing i have used on a sound card , far better then the delta 1010 anyway.

how much was it?

i paid £150 over a year ago from digital village, but it seems more like £200 now

has anyone tried the new emu-x?

has it sorted out all it's many,many issues now?
