Cool Just wondering, as i produce with headphones and i was worried about long-term damage.
Work at low levels most of the time, then crank it up to check things hold together at higher volumes. It's some complex interaction between Fletcher-Munson/cans' freq response at different levels etc etc. So things sound different when loud.

In addition, there's an old saying I read somewhere, once; 'EQ at high levels, levels at low levels' - something like that. So I'll usually end up setting up an eq then cranking the volume up and seeing if it needs tweaking.

Then turning it back down of course Grin

I - get this - use the master fader in Cubase to turn it down. Yes I move the master fader. But I am still mixing to 'zero' - I am just using it as a volume control. I know that if the master fader is at -12 and the peak meter reads -11, I've got clipping, even though it isn't actually clipping Wink

When I mix down for real the fader is at 0dB.

Oh and that gelnsound thing isn't suitable - my cans are 64Ohms impedance, and that's for 200-2000 Neutral

Plus all told it was a whopping £220!!
