so this means you'll have it in a couple days right? Hyper
i got invoiced today, paid today. i also paid for a second hand benchmark dac1 today which is coming from holland.

so atm i am a lot (!!!!!!!) of money down, skint as fuck and i have nothing to show for it Hahaha i have total trust in the 2 fellas though. i should have the eq tomorrow and the dac1 fri/mon :d

thing is i have to finish the stuff i am working on (in the middle of an album) before recabling, reracking and rebuilding my whole set-up before i can sit down and play with... i mean work with it. and i am in italy at the weekend for a gig!!! JEDIcrying

so when my boss gets back on monday, he is getting told in no uncertain terms that i am having wed/thurs/fri off! Yes

if i push it i might have it rerigged before i go away though Hyper

quote from a pm from an experienced g14 user;

Quote:just make sure that it's working 100% and all tubes are pretty new.

you will instantly hear if it's working perfectly because strapping it on the mix should sound very, very good and there should be absolutely no funny stuff going on apart from a slight widening of the stereo image.

only thing is to let it warm up properly, at least 20 minutes and preferably 30 minutes in my opinion, then it sounds like melted cheese. Smile

i set the output for unity (about 1 click to 3 o clock, i.e. 14:45h). you can max it out though for lots of tube saturation, but this requires you pad the input of your converter to avoid clipping. or into another unit like your p38.

my favourite areas are boosting with a medium q at 60, 70 or 80 hz for low boost. pull the knob all the way up and switch freq until i hit the spot and then pull down to around 10 o clock or what's needed.

3 khz or especially the nice 3.5khz boost for mid presence in a mix where vocals are buried. q slightly above medium (13:00h). sounds so different to digital eq and very sweet even though you're boosting a tough spot.

and then of course the magic top frequencies where i use anything between 14 and 22 khz with a medium to medium low q to approximate a shelf type sound.

i rarely cut using the g14
